William began painting in the year 2000. With no formal fine art training, he learned to paint from reading books about the techniques used by The Old Masters. While studying paintings in museums and cathedrals throughout Europe, William was influenced by the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Caravaggio, and Bouguereau. His recent series, “The Throwaway Generation,” focuses on plastic pollution and how it will affect future generations. William saw, first hand, the devastation caused by careless plastic waste while spending a month in Manila on a Rotary Club travel grant.
